SALINAS, Calif.--(BW SportsWire)--May 22, 2000
With four players shooting 74 or better, Robert Louis Stevenson captured the NCGA/CIF Northern California High School Championships on Monday at Salinas GCC.
Led by Kyle Gentry's 2-under-par 70 and Lance Torrey's 71, RLS beat runner-up Serra HS by eight shots and Liberty HS by nine. RLS was also boosted by Mike Colhoun's 72, Tim Cushing's 74 and Blake Bennett's 78 in the format that counts the best five scores out of six for each team.
