Robert Louis Stevenson's classic fable Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde will be performed at Leamington's Loft Theatre next week.

The play tells the story of an eminent physician who, thanks to a potion, leads a secret life of brutish criminality. Director Geoff Bennett said: "It's a classical tale and most people know of Jekyll and Hyde, but they don't know the actual story."

The tale is set in Victorian times and begins with the unlikely friendship between two very different men, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. One is a respectable gentleman while the other is a misanthropic loner.
