The Famous Five series of 21 adventures beat 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' by CS Lewis and Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Treasure Island' to the top spot in the poll carried out by the Cartoon Network.
'Black Beauty' by Anna Sewell, 'The Lord of the Rings' by JRR Tolkien and Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows' also featured in the top 10.
