The Lyman Estate in Waltham has the answer to Percy Bysshe Shelley's famous question, "If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?" The world inside the newly restored greenhouses on the almost 200-year-old estate is the place to experience springtime in the heart of winter.
Horticulturist Lynn Ackerman oversees a series of linked greenhouses on the property maintained by the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities. She said the greenhouses were recently restored with the aid of a matching grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
