Bloody Poetry, a play based on the life of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, will be performed by the Cygnet Theatre Company at Exeter's New Theatre tonight.
Inspired by Richard Holmes' biography of the poet, it explores the troubled last days of his life in exile in Italy.
It tells the story of Shelley, Lord Byron, Mary Shelley and Claire Clairemont, upper-class revolutionaries on the run, living out their utopian ideas of free love and communal creativity away from the trappings of conventional society.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost pounds8 and concessions are available.
