Planting spring bulbs
Which way is up?
The point goes up, the roots go down. But don't worry. Nature has a way of righting your wrong, and the bulbs usually will find their way to the surface regardless of which way you place them.
How deep?
As a general rule, plant your bulbs two to three times as deep as they are wide. For instance, a tulip bulb that is 2 inches wide should be planted 4 to 6 inches deep.
