LOS ANGELES Juan Samuel hit a tie-breaking, two-run single in the eighth inning and center fielder Brett Butler threw out two runners at the plate Saturday to help the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Atlanta Braves 7-3.
Losing pitcher Mike Stanton (0-1) was greeted in the eighth by singles from pinch hitters Mike Sharperson and Todd Benzinger, then loaded the bases with a one-out intentional walk to Stan Javier.
