Perhaps Butler - the outspoken anti-Victorian essayist who claimed to be Handel's greatest fan - exaggerated just a bit.

A few professional musicians join the Blacksburg Master Chorale for Friday's performance of Handel's seasonal masterpiece, "Messiah." The majority voice, however, is that of regular folk, people in the community who delight in singing with a chorus that loves music for music's sake.
