THE booklet "Our Daily Bread" states that at the start of the new year
newspapers and magazines will publish a lot of famous people and
celebrities who died during the previous 12 months.

The name of a person we admired or have helped us in the past may stir up
memories that touched us in a special way.

In my column on the first week of this year, I mentioned about three deaths
in my extended family of parakeets ...
