BELFAST, Northern Ireland (AP) _ Protestant Orangemen shied away from confrontation Monday in marches across Northern Ireland, weighed down by their own bitter divisions and subdued by the bombing deaths of three young Catholic boys.
At one big Orange gathering, scuffles broke out between those who insisted that a march must go through a Catholic neighborhood, and those who wanted the protest called off.
