London's star shines ever brighter.

The increasingly prosperous and cosmopolitan city that anchored the Live 8 concerts last weekend came from behind Wednesday to win the 2012 Olympics _ besting eternal rival Paris. The biggest celebration, appropriately, was in Trafalgar Square, named for Britain's victory over Napoleon's fleet 200 years ago.
