I TEND to have two or three books on the go. At the moment, I'm reading Kate Summerscale's The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher I've always loved Edgar Allan Poe and Wilkie Collins's The Woman In White, so I bought Summerscale's book as soon as I read about it.
So far, it's wonderfully gruesome but recounted in this cold, methodical and deliberately plodding style, which I like. The Cluedo-like map of the house on the inside flap is a great touch.
The book I currently have in my handbag it's a perfect size is On Bulls**t by a Princeton University ...
