The nominees for the 2007 Edgar Allan Poe Awards have been announced by Mystery Writers of America.

The awards, which consist of a variety of categories, aim to honour the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television and film published or produced in 2006.

This year's nominees for Best Novel include: The Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard, The Janissary Tree by Jason Goodwin, Gentleman and Players by Joanne Harris and The Dead Hour by Denise Mina.
