OWENSBORO PREMIERES SWEEP EDGAR AWARD NOMINATIONS

The Mystery Writers of America's 2008 Edgar Allan Poe Awards presenters won't reveal winners until May, but the Best Play nominations already have pumped up the prestige of the International Mystery Writers' Festival, produced by the RiverPark Center in Owensboro in Owensboro, Ky.

Turns out all three nominees for this year's Edgars for the Best Play premiered at Owensboro's inaugural International Mystery Writers' Festival last year.

The nominees are "If/Then" by David Foley, "Panic" by Joseph Goodrich and "Books" by Stuart M. Kaminsky.
