Actor and playwright James Thomas says Edgar Allan Poe's stories translate well to the stage.

Thomas is creator of a one-man play built around four works by the 19th century poet and short-story writer.

Thomas will perform "A Dream Within a Dream" Saturday at the Bloomington Art Center.

The play is set in 1849 on the night that Poe collapsed while walking down a street in Baltimore. He died shortly thereafter.
