Even though Edgar Allan Poe, who was born 195 years ago tomorrow, is known to have visited Norfolk on three well-authenticated occasions during his brief and tragic lifetime, only one structure here with which he was associated has survived.
The building in question is the former Norfolk Academy at 410 Bank St., now the regional headquarters of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
