Somewhere in the bowels of Wyastone Leys, the gracious country house just outside Monmouth which is the headquarters of Nimbus Records, lies a lost recording made ten years ago by the then 14-year-old Russian pianist, Boris Giltburg. The session was part of his prize for winning a competition in nearby Newport.

But the company fell into financial and administrative difficulties, and the disc was never released. Now a revival in the organisation's fortunes has enabled a resumption of commercial activities, but that particular recital seems to ...
