This is a busy week, beginning tonight with the latest offering in the acclaimed series of productions from Birmingham Conservatoire's School of Vocal and Operatic Studies. This time round it's Purcell's Midsummer Night's Dream-based masque The Fairy Queen, directed by the inspirational Michael Barry (himself an expert on baroque dance) and conducted by the equally expert baroque specialist Jeffrey Skidmore.
