Jeremiahs tell us how much the classical recording industry is on a downturn, with compilations, dubious 'cross-overs' and reissues taking away the market from fresh recordings of both core and unusual repertoire. However that may be, the proportion of new recordings in my list of this year's CD highlights is higher than that for 2001, and several are at full-price. Could the tide be turning?
