Your brilliant dissection of Morris "the mole" (he did burrow into the Reagan family's confidence) touches on many fine points (" `Ed: A biography of Edmund Morris,' " Editorial, Oct. 1). Although one could spend forever picking Mr. Morris apart, one need go no further than his classic comment on President Reagan's missed opportunities during his famous "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" speech. Mr. Morris says, "What a rhetorical opportunity missed." Mr. Morris' thought of frightening Mikhail Gorbachev with delicate bits of Robert Frost or Edna St. Vincent Millay ...
