Martin Hennessy, a collaborative pianist whose knowledge of the piano, the voice, and poetry is superlative, is currently turning his gifts to composing for the voice. He has composed works in the mediums of art song, chamber music, opera, and music theater. His song cycle Four Ben Jonson Songs was reviewed in the March/April 2004 issue of Journal of Singing, and singers will welcome this cycle for soprano on poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay.
