CRIME writer Louise Welsh describes Christopher Marlowe, the hero of her latest novel, Tamburlaine Must Die, as "almost like a punk rocker" - which will be a surprise to most fans of the poet and playwright who was Shakespeare's contemporary.

Her novel charts the last days of Marlowe, offering an explanation of the 400-year-old mystery that surrounds his death.
