Acting up: Youths present fanciful Rudyard Kipling story

OREM -- Sherry Hopkinson -- whose son is a leopard in the SCERA's "Just So" show -- is overseeing the slightly crazy costume production with an army of moms helping her out, director Laurel Barham said.

Adam Steele, the high school actor playing one of the lead characters, designed most of the costumes, working to achieve a look that reflects the show's humor and Rudyard Kipling's creative approach to how the animal kingdom came to be.

Steele is an Orem High School senior who plays the eldest magician who creates all of the whimsical animal characters in the Elephant Child's world.
