SHAWNEE -- Kathleen Norris Blocher, 80, formerly of Prairie Village, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at a Shawnee nursing home.

Mrs. Blocher taught home economics at the high school level in Shawnee Mission many yers ago.

She was born March 1, 1919, at Buckhannon, W.Va., the daughter of Alonzo and Ada Smith Williams. She graduated from Upshur High School in Buckhannon, W.Va., and she earned a bachelor's degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She later earned a master's degree in home economics at Columbia University in New York City. She moved to Prairie Village in 1952.
