Ralph Bernard Hale, 58, of Blue Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 20, 2004. A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was an accomplished poet and artist. Mr. Hale was preceded in death by his parents, Wilsie Julius and Annie Beckner Hale and a brother, David Lee Hale. Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Lynn St. Peter; a son, Charles Christopher Hale, both of Maine; sisters, Billie Caldwell of Salem, Kathleen Norris and Linda Arrington, both of Blue Ridge and Thelma Walker of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Mary Hale of Vinton; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family ...
