(Daily O'Collegian) (U-WIRE) STILLWATER, Okla. -- James P. Ronda presented a public lecture on "Out West With Washington Irving" Friday in the Edmon Low Library at Oklahoma State University.

Ronda is a graduate from the University of Tulsa, is an author of many books, is experienced in museum consulting for history projects and is an historian in the pioneering of the West.

Most connect Irving with the novels Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle, and visions of childhood folklore heroes flood the mind. But Ronda wanted to introduce Irving in a new light.
