There can be no place more perfect than the Lakes Region of Italy for beauty and peacefulness. Between Milan and the Alps a necklace of lakes fairly shimmers. Though each - Garda, Maggiore, Como, Lugano, Iseo and Orta - is a jewel, many writers and artists have found that one of the smallest and easiest to tour is also the most enchanting.
