(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- Thanks to a poorly thought-out 10th-grade incident in which I decided to slide -- not sit -- into my desk (I tried to explain to the teacher that without the slide, I might have overrun it), I never made it into any high-falutin' A.P. high school English classes. Therefore, I cannot claim to have read Honore de Balzac's classic novel, Cousin Bette.
