A man accused of giving a young girl drugs and alcohol and sexually assaulting her in his north Eugene apartment was arraigned Monday in Lane County Circuit Court on multiple charges.

Henry James Gales, 57, pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree sex abuse, a count of coercion, and three counts each of delivering a controlled substance to a minor and furnishing liquor to a minor.

He was being held in the Lane County Jail on $700,000 bail.
