Part I:
The little town of Vevey, Switzerland, had many hotels for the large
tourist trade that came there. These hotels lined the shore of a remarkably
blue lake, and among the newer places was a famous and classical stopping
place, which in the month of June was full of numerous touring Americans.
A person could see young American girls in the area, especially from an inn
named the "Trois Couronnes." One could also see the mixture of German waiters,
Russian princesses, and Polish boys.
