EDINBURGH has joined a worldwide celebration of the storyteller Hans Christian Andersen's 200th birthday.
The City Art Centre is to host a major exhibition on the Danish writer in October, with his life story themed around six of his fairytales. This weekend, Edinburgh University hosts a conference on his work. Actor Billy Boyd, writer Dame Muriel Spark and Dame Helena Kennedy, QC, have agreed to be goodwill ambassadors for the celebration.
