The largest known paper cut ever made by Hans Christian Andersen that
eventually was pasted into a first edition by the Danish fairy tale
writer was to be auctioned Monday.
The Copenhagen-based Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art said they estimated the cut and the first edition to be worth as much as 150,000 kroner (US$20,000).
The paper cut _ likely made in 1864 _ is the largest known attributed to Andersen who made dozens of them. It measures 42 centimeters (1.7 inches) by 34 centimeters (1.4 inches) and includes a handwritten verse ...
