More than 3,000 events have been scheduled worldwide for the bicentennial celebration of Hans Christian Andersen, Denmark's famous fairy tale writer, organizers said Tuesday.
The events range from the unveiling of Andersen statues in Vietnam to fairy tale writing competitions in New York schools, to puppet theater performances in Australia.
"The world has joined in to celebrate Andersen," said organizer Christian Have. "It's a little fairy tale of its own."
