Dutch princess joins Hans Christian Andersen goodwill ambassador corps

Dutch Princess Laurentien will be the second European royal to become a goodwill ambassador for next year's celebrations marking the bicentennial of Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen, organizers said Wednesday.

The 38-year-old Dutch princess will join a list of nearly 70 Danish and international figures who will promote the 2005 celebrations. In October, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg became the first royal goodwill ambassador.
