The only known letter written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen to his mother has been discovered by a biographer of the fairy tale writer.
The one-page letter was written in 1831 and was found by Kirsten Dreyer among papers at the downtown Copenhagen library.
Dreyer has been commissioned by Denmark's Royal Library to write a biography based on selected Andersen correspondence.
