Praga no te suelta. Menudas zarpas tiene la madrecita", escribía un joven de 19 años para explicar la atracción que ejercía sobre él Praga, la ciudad donde nació y que detestaba, pero de la que nunca pudo marcharse y cuyo enigma y diversidad él mismo atrapó en sus textos. El muchacho era Franz Katka, que llegaría a convertirse en uno de los escritores más importantes del siglo XX, ya que, más que ningún otro, al decir de W. H. Auden, expresa el espíritu concreto de nuestra época.
