Director Garland Wright has created a stage adaptation of Franz Kafka's novel 'The Trial.' The staging incorporates a recurring theme of terror that was experienced by Wright as a child, which was set off by a book of old photographs. Wright's version dwells on the extreme alienation and paranoia existing in Kafka's view of society, in which one man could stand in trial for an unspecified crime. The play, entitled 'K: Impressions of 'The Trial' was produced by the Guthrie Theater in New York.
