Japanese writer Haruki Murakami (R) shakes hands with Kurt Krolop, German professor of literature and director of Franz Kafka Society, as he receives the Franz Kafka Award for 2006, 30 October 2006 in Prague. Murakami, 57, has been inspired by the works of this Prague-born German-Jewish writer since his youth, he told reporters.
