Ralph Waldo Emerson put it this way: "Nature is no sentimentalist . . . the elements, fortune, gravity, lightning respect no persons."

And yet, miracles do happen. To the folks who spent four days searching for 11-year-old Brennan Hawkins, and to the many others who spent that time praying for his safety, God delivered such a miracle on Tuesday. Against all odds and the unspoken fears of many, he was found alive and in good condition, about three miles from the Boy Scout camp he left on Friday.
