``How do I love thee? Let me count the ways,'' wrote poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

And let me count a few of the ways omitted from my list Thursday of some of the glories of Hampton Roads that may have moved Money magazine to designate this region No. 1 among metropolitan areas of a million in the South.
