Who knew Boston Police spokesgal Mariellen Burns was a regular Elizabeth Barrett Browning of Christmas party invites????

She's a poet - and we didn't even know it. . . .

Friends of Mariellen, who is a former WBZ-TV reporter, were tittering about her e-mailed Xmas party invite that urged them to "Come shake you holiday booty. Don't be snooty."

"Not exactly the kind of thing you expect to receive from the police department," laughed one F.O.M.

And yes, Mariellen's missive DID come from her computer at police headquarters. But back to the copy: "Bring whomever you ...
