Great writers from Lord Byron to Elizabeth Barrett Browning to James Thurber have written epitaphs and poems and tributes to departed pets. But none would be any more heartfelt than those written in stone at the Pine Ridge Cemetery for Animals in Dedham.
Here in the oldest pet cemetery run by a humane organization, on 27 acres of rolling hills carpeted and hushed by a deep layer of pine needles, are found touching tributes dating back to the turn of the century.
