REVIEW; Sweet, but not cloying; Rep's 'Enchanted April' gracefully balances poise, humor

A supremely entertaining study in gender differences is currently on display on two of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater's stages.

While the boys are behaving badly in David Mamet's viciously funny "Glengarry Glen Ross" in the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater, the girls are proper and dainty in Matthew Barber's stage adaptation of the Elizabeth von Arnim novel "Enchanted April" in the Stiemke Theater. The boys are slicing and dicing each other in a nasty exhibition of machismo-fueled competition. The girls are finding common ground in a figurative group hug after getting off to a rocky start.
