As a schoolgirl in England, conservationist Jane Goodall stoked her imagination with the Dr. Doolittle stories and the Tarzan novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
But there was something that left her unsatisfied with the Tarzan stories. It was ``that wimpy Jane.''
