If you're looking for someone to blame for having to read my column -- and who isn't? -- might I suggest blaming those listed above. Except, upon closer examination, I've noticed that the first three guys are dead. So I'd focus on my dad, if I were you.

It was reading that got me interested in writing, and my dad was the one who hooked me on science fiction books and grumpy newspaper columnists.
