While it broke his heart to part with the science fiction and fantasy books - especially the Edgar Rice Burroughs collection - he'd been amassing since he was a teen, John Zubal (above) credits his decision to sell them with putting him on the path to becoming a bookseller.
The sale of his "treasures'' brought in close to $5,000 and helped him to discover how easy it was to sell to the sci-fi and fantasy fans and collectors he'd met through the years. "That was good money back then,'' Mr. Zubal said.
