'ANACONDAS' FLUFFY, BUT FUN

If "Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid" were a book, it would be found in the cheap pulp section, sharing space with Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan" novels and boasting a lurid cover.

As a film, "Anacondas" is a fairly successful B-level jungle thriller. It lacks name actors and the plot can't withstand close scrutiny, but it provides shallow thrills, laughs (both intentional and not) and a generally fun time.

The film is a weird blend of 1992's "Medicine Man," the reality TV hit "Survivor" and the 1975 classic "Jaws." The latter two are even referenced in "Anacondas."
