LOS ANGELES _ Kerry Conran, who cut his directorial teeth on the upcoming "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," already has his second project lined up.

He is in talks to helm sci-fi author Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic "Princess of Mars," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Paramount Pictures project is based on "John Carter of Mars," the first of an 11-book series that centers on the titular character, a Virginian Civil War officer who is captured by the savage green men on Mars. Carter overcomes them, becomes a great warrior, marries the beautiful Dejah ...
