ANN LESLIE, the Daily Mail's most distinguished foreign correspondent ( pictured right) , was yesterday honoured for her brilliant despatches from the world's trouble spots.

The London Press Club presented her with the Edgar Wallace trophy ? one of the most coveted prizes in journalism ? for the quality of her reporting and writing over a year in which major foreign stories dominated the newspaper agenda.
