The site of a former pub on a major Preston road could be turned into a block of student flats.

Developer Edgar Wallace has applied to the city council for permission to build a three and four-storey block of flats where the County Arms stood at the junction of Ribbleton Lane and Deepdale Road.

The flats would have 32 bedrooms and 15 car parking spaces on the ground floor.

The pub, opposite the entrance to Preston Prison, was demolished last summer.
